Censorship
Censorship and false narratives are everywhere

Curating Your Reality

Truth is like the sun. You can shut it out for a time, but it ain’t goin’ away.  Elvis Presley

Once the Democrats assumed power, we knew that discerning ground truth in political news and coverage of current events was bound to get harder. Donald Trump completely exposed the bias in the major news media and triggered the social media behemoths into blatantly abusing their monopoly to censor free speech. With Trump now gone, you might think these entities would inch back (at least a little bit) towards some semblance of objectivity. Just the opposite has happened. Knowing the new Administration will not publicly question their motives, and will instead even encourage their bias, false reporting and censorship in the media has exploded. The same false narratives are spun as before – COVID ever more deadly, climate change hard upon us, social injustice permeating our every act, etc. But now there is an air of complacency, as though these overblown narratives are finally accepted as a “given”, because Joe, Kamala, Nancy and Chuck are at the helm. Without any resistance, the level of deceit, embellishment, and outright prevarication has skyrocketed. Government officials, taking their cue from the social media companies, have also jumped gleefully onto the censorship bandwagon.

Here are two obvious examples. The first is the subject of our previous article – The 1776 Report. Created by a diverse government commission, this work masterfully summarizes the historical context of our founding. Within minutes (literally!) of Joe Biden being sworn into office, this document was removed from publicly accessible government servers where it had been published only three days earlier. In lock step, all the major news media organizations removed links to this document from their websites. You can still find information about the document, but that information is just a slanted liberal analysis of the source document that is meant to be swallowed whole without reflection. ‘You don’t need to examine the content of this document’, is the media’s tacit message, ‘You just need to accept what WE say you should think about it’. Without the ability to access the source document, it is impossible (intentionally so) for anyone to form their own opinion by reading it directly. Oh no, that sort of unfettered thinking is deemed by the media/democrat cabal to be too dangerous to society. The same thing happened again last week. Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund resigned over the handling of the protest at the Capitol building on January 6th. He wrote an 8-page resignation letter detailing the timeline of events and his criticism of the government response to the incident. Within days of initially being posted on several news websites, the text of that letter was removed from nearly all major media outlets (most curiously, it remains buried very deeply on CNN’s website). All one could read was commentary about the letter, telling you what you should believe about its content and thrust. No surprise that the commentary is distinctly liberal. Again, reading the raw source material, i.e. Chief Sund’s own words, is apparently considered just too dangerous by the left. We have a copy of that letter here.

In another high-level deception, it was confirmed just this past week that the state of New York hid the true numbers of nursing home deaths that resulted from Andrew Cuomo’s deadly decision last spring to force those facilities to take in COVID-19 infected residents. These numbers were withheld despite an official request and investigation by the Department of Justice. The reason given for this deception was most telling. Melissa DeRosa, secretary to Governor Cuomo, stated in her own words that the Cuomo administration concealed the true number of COVID-19 deaths out of fear they would be publicly chastised by President Trump. Now that Biden is in office and Trump is not, that concern is gone. It is now safe for Melissa DeRosa to admit this “error”, without fear of reprisal from the current Administration. DeRosa went on to apologize to the Democrat Party for putting them in a position that was not “fair” (relative to the Republican Party) by revealing the information now. The thousands of families whose loved ones were true victims of this catastrophe were not on Ms. DeRosa‘s apology list .

The most obvious case of deceit by the new administration continues to be the characterization of the riot at the Capitol as an “insurrection”. How this event was dramatized during the impeachment trial was something to behold. The Dems and the Media desperately want you to internalize what happened on January 6th as a genuine and authentic attempt to mortally harm members of the House and Senate and subsequently overthrow our government. If this were actually true, then the “insurrection” that occurred on January 6th would have to go down in history as the worst insurrection ever. An actual takeover of the government would require far more people, far, far more firepower and far, far, far more organization. The end goal of true insurrectionists would not be to pose for and display pictures of themselves lounging in Congressional offices. Nor would it be to merely purloin a few personal items of the House members. Yet, the message being repeatedly pounded by Dems and the media is that we were on the brink of mass casualties in Congress and mob rule of our government. Hardly. Just look at the video that the Democrat impeachment managers purport shows such drama. It’s underwhelming. You don’t have to believe any conspiracy theories about why this wasn’t a real insurrection1. Just follow this logic – on the day of the insurrection, the highest office of our government was held by the champion of the protesters (Trump was still President and would be for 14 more days). At that same time, the US Senate was controlled by the party of the protesters (Mike Pence was still the tie breaking vote for Republicans). Insurrectionists seek to overthrow a government they oppose. If they really intended to take over our government, wouldn’t it make more sense for the insurrectionists to wait until the administration they abhor was actually in power?

In less dramatic but more insidious fashion, we see an acceleration of the endlessly promoted theme of inherent and pervasive social injustice in the US. To experience this narrative in its most highly polished form, all you had to do was watch the Super Bowl. Force fed into nearly every message from the NFL was the presupposed and unassailable notion that our country is and always has been saturated in deeply rooted social injustice. Players adorning their helmets with names of people they believe to be victims of social injustice and police brutality is a new norm. Nearly all sporting events have now become similarly imbued with this premise. Under the auspices of a Joe Biden Administration, social injustice now takes the form of gospel. In radical fashion, this theme is being introduced into the public education system2. While there are no doubt pockets of the country where racial animus does exist, we reject the notion that it is true across the whole of society. Nevertheless, politicians and the media are commanding us to accept wholesale guilt and grovel in penance. They promise punishment if we refuse.

The only sure way to get real news today is to read the actual source material. The resignation letter from Chief Sund and the text from the 1776 Report are good examples. Others include Supreme Court opinions directly from the pen of the Justices (https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/), the actual text of executive orders (https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/presidential-actions/), and summaries of signed and proposed legislation (https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/legislation/). Also, trust the Constitution. It has worked unfailingly for almost 250 years through many a crisis.

1 The protest/riot of January 6th has been described as a “deadly” insurrection in which five people were killed. What we now know is that three of those five died of medical emergencies unrelated to the riot (Kevin Greeson, Benjamin Philips, Rosanne Boyland). A fourth, Capitol police Officer Brian Sicknick, was said to have been killed by rioters who hit him in the head with a fire extinguisher. Evidence is growing that this story is false. Even the New York Times now questions the original cause of his death and had to update its original story. Facts are still being uncovered, but it appears that Officer Sicknick may have died of a stroke and may not have had any blunt force trauma to his head. If true, this would place him in the same category with the other three decedents, whose deaths were not directly caused by rioting. That would leave Ashli Babbit, an Air Force veteran, as the only person who died at the Capitol on January 6th directly due to a physical altercation at the riot. Ms. Babbit was shot and killed by the Capitol police (the specific officer has yet to be named). At the time she was shot, she was climbing through a window.  She was not threatening anyone with a weapon. It is not clear she even possessed a weapon. The entire tale that violent Trump supporters caused five deaths at the Capitol has been undermined.

One Response

  1. This is a really well thought out article.
It is unfortunate that our ability to see and hear balanced information, other than what a bold and corrupt media wants us to see and hear, is being limited so quickly.
It’s even more unfortunate that our ability to research truths on our own is also being restricted by an equally corrupt internet oversight. Information is washed away, deleted or simply discredited with broad reaching communication power.
The only stopgap would be the laws and courts – and we have seen their corruption and support for those abhorrent behaviors over the past four years as Trump disclosed their true loyalty.
We are heading down a path to be no different than those countries we have pointed to as suppressing their people’s voices for freedom. Unless something changes, the current expanding educational system of perversion will successfully rape of our original constitutional freedoms. So the question is how to turn that direction around?
More unfortunate than the previously mentioned corruptions, is that the 200 years of growing government (socialism) that cannot be stopped without some event that results in more than one country, where the new one structures something similar to what our founding fathers tried to do but with a few more safeguards to ensure the freedoms last maybe 400 years.
