Don’t lose momentum. If there is one sentence the Republican Party needs to keep repeating to itself, it is that one. Step back just a little from the daily onslaught of attention-grabbing but largely inconsequential headlines, and you can see our country in the midst of repairing itself. Here’s how:
The Supreme Court – The High Court has handed down numerous decisions of late that have curbed executive branch overreach, reaffirmed and restored basic freedoms, and removed the federal government from deeply personal decisions on vaccine mandates, religion and abortion. They have done this with superbly written opinions and such impeccable logic that liberal critics have been transported into a literal frenzy. These crazed critics are incapable of responding with reason and/or intellect because of their own disregard for the Constitution and the overwhelming strength of the Court’s opinion. This has resulted in a comedy of ridiculous “remedies” coming from the left (court packing and threatening to kill Justices) that openly exposes their true ignorance and radical nature for all to see.
Capitalism is working – Capitalism will brutally punish companies for poor business decisions based on emotions and/or politics rather than sound logic and best business practices. It is a built-in self-correction mechanism. Even big corporations can’t avoid this reckoning. Companies who have stupidly chosen to embrace “woke” ideologies are losing money faster than they can count it. Public outrage and backlash in the form of boycotts and viral debilitating memes are destroying once revered big brands. The profits and stock prices of these companies are being crushed at an astounding pace. Recovery from these abysmal business errors will take both time and humility. Many of these companies appear unwilling to make an investment in either.
School choice – The ability for parents to freely choose where their children go to school appears now to be the preferred philosophy across the country. School choice is on a trajectory to be the dominant mechanism for primary education. The culturally compromised public school system with its racially and sexually poisoned curriculum and radicalized teachers’ union is at its lowest percentage of enrollment in history relative to the alternatives – private schools, charter schools, and home schooling. These alternative choices are for the most part within the domain of state governments and are not infected with mass unionization. Via testing and outcomes, they aptly demonstrate that the presence of the federal government is not only unnecessary in the American education system, but that it is presently doing more harm than good. The time is right for the next President to eliminate the Department of Education. Federal student loan and grant programs, the only worthwhile education-related products from the federal government, can be administered from a different Cabinet department.
Population Redistribution – People are steadily leaving progressive liberal states like California and New York and moving to conservative states like Florida and Texas. This has happened to such a degree that both California and New York have each lost a congressional seat, and thus an Electoral College vote. On the other hand, Florida is among five states that have gained a new congressional seat (and an Electoral College vote) because of their increased population. This will have a profound effect on the outcome of close presidential elections, very much favoring the Republican Party. Yet, you’ve probably read or heard almost nothing about this in the news. This redistribution of the population and the consequent shift it causes in the make-up of Congress and the source of Electoral College votes is purely a result of people “voting with their feet”. Plus, the people who are moving are not bringing far left politics with them to conservative states. Just look at what happened in the 2022 election for Governor in Florida.
The U.S. Credit Rating – The credit rating agency Fitch recently downgraded the U.S. from a AAA rating to an AA+ rating. They cited several reasons, but the main theme among them all was that our government is showing little discipline or responsibility with its spending, especially in the face of high inflation and high interest rates.
At first glance, this downgrading appears to be a bad thing. However, what has happened here is that the real world of global financing intruded upon the Biden fantasy that the US is flush with money and can spend without limits. This is a huge reality check that legitimizes all the criticisms and warnings from conservatives about government overspending. It is also a wake-up call that the major entitlement programs (Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Welfare), which make up more than two thirds of the entire federal budget, must be reined in.
After making the required interest payment on the national debt, the federal government now spends all of its remaining tax revenue on these entitlement programs. Every other part of the federal government, including national defense, must be funded with borrowed money. There is no indication that this catastrophic state of our national finances will ever improve under the current administration. As President Biden demonstrated with his unconcerned and cavalier approach to the debt limit discussions, there is now a greater risk of a default on our monthly debt payment. This is why our credit rating was downgraded. In a way, this outside, objective assessment of our finances is a gift to the Republicans. They should take full advantage of it in their votes on the upcoming 2024 spending bills next month.
Voting System Integrity – Numerous states have shored up their voting rules and procedures since the election debacle of 2020. Even so, a clear lesson to be learned by the Republicans is that they need to muster a much bigger army of election observers in the 5 or 6 swing states that will decide the 2024 election. They must have mechanisms in place well ahead of time that track and monitor how mail-in ballots are produced, that ensure those ballots are mailed only to legitimate addresses where a registered voter lives, and that the returned ballots come only from real people living at those legitimate addresses. The Republicans were caught with their collective pants down in the aftermath of the 2020 election. It was obvious to any objective observer that malfeasance had occurred. But there was simply not enough specific evidence to bring an effective court challenge in the very short time window available after the election. This time around, the legal watchdogs need to be “locked and loaded” for quick action at the first sign of impropriety.
The 2024 Election – Finally, and contrary to what most of the news media is telling you, the Republican party is once again in the sweet spot for the upcoming 2024 Presidential election. Candidate Donald Trump continues to enjoy an unrivaled connection with his supporters and is far ahead of his closest rival for the Republican nomination. There is a big lesson to be learned from the 2016 election that the Republican party best not forget. You stick with the candidate that generates the most enthusiasm and energy within your party and who has also made the deepest connection with your voters.
On the Republican side in 2016, that was Trump. On the Democrat side in 2016, it was Bernie Sanders. The Democrat elites cast off Sanders, who had all the momentum in that election, in favor of the establishment choice of Hillary Clinton. On the Republican side, despite a strong distaste for Trump from many conservative elites, the party stuck with him and he won the election convincingly.
As of this moment, despite four indictments, not only is Trump still generating that same level of enthusiasm and energy he did in 2016, he also now has a much larger and more diverse group of supporters. He maintains that deep connection with his supporters to a far greater extent than any other candidate on either side of the isle. By contrast, there is no energy, enthusiasm, or connection of any kind among Joe Biden supporters. In fact, polls indicate that more than half of them say he shouldn’t even be running.
Of course, we are aware that most liberals are so blindly partisan, and so terminally uninformed, they will simply pull the Democrat lever no matter who is on the ticket. The liberal media tries to twist this fact into the presumption of an enthusiastic voting block for Joe Biden comprising roughly 40% of the electorate. It is not. All it means is that 40% of the electorate are nothing more than Democrat voting automatons. Republican candidates need to keep this in mind with their respective campaign messages.
The Biden Administration has made it very easy for Republican candidates to state a policy platform that clearly defines the problems in the country and the inability of the current leadership to fix them. At the top of the list of those problems are: a southern border intentionally being made more porous by the day, gross overspending, a hopelessly corrupt FBI and Department of Justice, leaderless foreign policy being carried out by uncoordinated 2nd and 3rd level bureaucrats, and a greatly weakened military peppered with “political” rather than “warrior” commanders. Additionally, the already enormously bloated Executive Branch of the federal government is now critically infected with deep state actors ready to undermine all actions of a future Republican Administration. All these things are bad, but they are clearly visible, easy to articulate, and come with numerous examples which can be highlighted.
The sky is not falling, and the glass is half full. Conservatives have a lot to cheer about right now.

I sincerely appreciate your optimism. It’s what I miss most with Rush Limbaugh’s passing – his optimism.
But is there enough water in that greater than half-full glass to drown the RINOs?
Very good question. There are a number of Republicans very highly skilled at shooting themselves in the foot. They have to be eliminated at the ballot box just like Liz Cheney was. What may be a worse problem is the growing number of (formerly) conservative news outlets who have jumped on the anti-Trump bandwagon. National Review is the worst offender. Most of their staff writers have plunged so far down into the “get Trump” abyss, they can no longer see any part of the larger context. Half of their content is now the same worthless blather you see on CNN. William F. Buckley is turning over in his grave.
What we need more than anything else right now is a conservative leader with the courage to completely overhaul the Executive branch. He/she should start by making it much, much smaller so as to greatly reduce the activities of a hostile and hidden deep state full of socialists. This will be even more of a challenge for Trump because he would have to additionally contend with a RINO deep state working against him. We need that bull in the china shop.
Great summary of the ‘state of conservative government’ in our country. I too appreciate the optimism and feel the changes that can possibly move the government in a less corrupt direction. Having stated that, it’s a mountain to climb. The abuse of our justice system, entrenched with progressive judges, are the aces in the hole for liberals. Combine that with the completely corrupt intelligence and law enforcement areas of our government. We tiptoe around that point. All I here is that the rank and file of these areas are great patriots and that if the leadership at the top changes, things will get better. Well, if they are sticking to their respective oaths to protect and defend the constitution, the patriots need to stand up and step forward regardless of the consequences. Does the FBI know what’s going on with Joe & Hunter. Does the NSA know what went on in the countries where the tens of millions of dollars came from that are participating in the widespread corruption of our government? Of course they do! One or two whistleblowers out of thousands in the know? Our country is for sale and I guess it’s not important enough for the front line patriots to step up. Without them stepping up in mass the corrupt deep state will suppress the progress of conservative momentum at the ballot boxes via extensive tools of corruption.
Thanks Johnny. Agree with everything you say. Regarding your last point about the tools of corruption for the election, we are about to start writing our next article on this very topic. We’ve got a new theory on how Dems will try and fix the outcome this time, and I fear it may work. It will require some precise timing however. Stay tuned.
